Ulrich Tausend’s Summary

After spending some time in television production, I co-founded the company Neokolot/Neodelight in 2000.
Neodelight developed the mobile phone and browser-based massively multiplayer game “Zoing” which was published by Vodafone-Germany. Neodelight also designed one of the first MMS games for Ericsson. Today Neodelight produces browser-based games and runs its own casual games website (www.neodelight.com).

After being sold out of Neodelight by the Indian 7Seas Technologies in January 2008, I completed my master’s degree at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in Sociology, Political Science and Psychology January 2009. I wrote my master’s thesis on the topic “Explanatory Models of Computer Gaming Behavior” focusing on the differentiation of casual and hardcore games.

Since 2008 I am offering consulting services including Project Management for Internet/Game Projects (see www.ulrichtausend.com for details) including a focus on more political and sociological topics like media literacy and serious games.

May-August 2009 I was responsible for the research department at Remote Control Productions with the charged RCP Newsletter with information on the computer and videogames market being my primary project. My secondary responsibility was evaluating the serious games market.
