I have worked on the alignment of intellectual property strategies with business strategies for a number of companies. This included freedom-to-operate studies to see whether companies can operate free of adversely held intellectual property rights (or whether the rights could be acquired or not). I have worked on drafting "visionary" patent applications trying to foresee the direction of the marketplace and ensure that companies protect those areas with their technology.

In the M&A field I have advised a number of companies on acquisitions. I have helped purchasers assess the value of the intellectual property - and if necessary adjust the price paid. I have helped companies looking to be acquired in their strategies to maximise their value through intellectual property rights.
